The Park Church Co-op, formerly the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, is ringing in fall with a Harvest Festival on November 7 at its Russell Street location.
The three-hour event will feature a series of fall-themed activities, including apple tasting, pumpkin painting, face painting, crafts and a series of fall themed games.
The Festival will include a pie-baking contest, funds from which will go towards the Park Church Co-op and Greenpoint Reformed Church’s food pantries.
Experts and amateurs alike are invited to enter their pies in either a sweet or savory category. A $5 donation is suggested for contestants to enter their pies into the competition.
Each contestant is asked to enter two pies into the competition — one for tasting and judging and the other for a group dinner to follow the Harvest Festival.
Winners of the contest will walk away with prizes, and so the others don’t feel left out there will be some raffle prizes up for grabs at the festival as well.
Refreshments, in addition to the pies, will include hot cider and beer as well as wine tastings.
To enter your pie into the competition, reach out to Pastor Amy Kienzle at email@example.com.
