Vicious Cabbie Attack and Other Crimes from the 90th Precinct

Two men got into an argument at a warehouse located at 1313 Grand Street on the night of October 8.

The fight started out as a verbal dispute but soon became violent.

One of the employees approached a tractor inside the warehouse to fix the light switch on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

As he attempted to climb into the vehicle, the aggravated employee slammed the door of the vehicle eight times on the victim’s back and knees.

This employee then fled and has not been heard from since.

Another Cabbie Attacked

A cab driver was assaulted on October 10 in Williamsburg, only a week after another cab driver was savagely beaten in the same neighborhood.

In this latest incident, the attack occurred around 4 p.m. at the northeast corner of Havemeyer and South 2nd Streets.

While the cab driver was waiting at this intersection, seven men approached the cab and surrounded it.

One of them pushed him inside the cab and grabbed his phone and wallet.

The driver got out and attempted to retrieve his property.

All seven then started beating him up.

He sustained a cut above his nose, a bump above his left eyebrow, and when EMS arrived at the scene they discovered that his arms were dislocated as well.

Only one of the seven perps has been arrested so far.

A 52-year-old man was attacked while walking home on Ten Eyck Walk from a nearby store.

Around 10 p.m., an unknown man approached him from behind and pushed him to the ground.

He grabbed the victim’s cane and threw it away, which the victim was unable to obtain afterward.

He then reached into the victim’s pocket and grabbed a $20 bill and fled the scene.

Shots Fired

Two people were injured and one killed in a shooting in Bushwick on the night of October 6.

Three unknown men shot a firearm into a crowd that killed a 53-year-old man on the southwest corner of Grattan Street and Knickerbocker Avenue at 7:52 p.m. that night.

The shooting also left a 13-year-old girl injured on her left hip and a 56-year-old man shot in the right torso.

Police were unable to provide additional information on the matter.
