People have been mixing drinks for centuries, but it wasn’t until the 17th and 18th centuries that cocktails such as Fizzes, Toddies and Juleps became popular.
Now people can come and taste a variety of these liquid concoctions at Bushwick Beverages, an artisanal beer and wine block party set to take place on Troutman Street in a couple of week.
“I’m looking forward to collaborating with other vendors,” said Tanya Landeta, owner of AP Creative Team on Troutman Street, who is participating for the first time at the event. “I’m excited and it’s going to turn out great.”
Landeta will be serving food like turkey sandwiches and apple pies.
The event will feature beer and wine selections from more than two dozen craft breweries. Some of the vendors include Bushwick hotspots, Lot 45, Rookery and Union Pizza.
The block party will feature performances from Mariachi Flor de Toloache and R&B duo Julia &Terrace with music provided by House DJ Christopher Sealey and Fuse TVs DJ Ceo.
“This will be the ultimate indoor/outdoor block party that combines the best of beer and wine tastings from more than two dozen brands, along with great food and music offerings,” said Tai Allen, creative director of Arts+Craft, the organization behind the event, on its website.
