Love was in the air at PS 34 last Friday for Valentine’s Day at the school’s “Everybody Loves to Read Day.” To mark the occasion, the students at the Norman Avenue school had “celebrity” readers visiting throughout the day to share their favorite books. Councilmember Steve Levin, Superintendent Alicja Winnicki, North Brooklyn Development Director Rich Mazur, Gazette Publisher Jeff Mann and Assemblyman Joe Lentol were just some of the day’s visiting readers.
“The event was a great success,” Lentol said. “The children were engaged and it seems like they keep getting smarter and smarter. I read them a book involving snow, in light of the recent weather, and it was amazing to learn how knowledgeable they were about the news and what was going on around them. Very impressive. Keep up the good work P.S. 34!”
