On January 17th, North Brooklyn welcomed full service investment firm, Edward Jones to the neighborhood. The company, which has 12,000 investment advisors serving nearly 7 million investors, cut the ribbon on their South 6th location with financial advisor Timothy Mullins and Councilmember Diana Reyna doing the honors.
Mullins chose to open in North Brooklyn, “figuring the people are really cool and that there’d be a lot of opportunity to help them, considering there were no existing full service brokerage firms.” To introduce himself, he began knocking on doors – residential and businesses –before opening his new office.
“The response from the community has been very welcoming,” he said. “They’re a bit skeptical at first of anybody who comes to their house, but after I showed how much I care about helping them reach their financial goals and showed them the quality of Edward Jones products and services, they really started opening up to me.”
