Once again, North Brooklynites were out in force to show their Halloween spirit. Here are some of our favorite photos from this year, taken at Councilmember Diana Reyna’s party, Red Bull Trick or Treat, Town Square’s Parade and Party, the 16th annual Williamsburg Parade and Peter Pan Donuts.
Red Bull Trick or Treat provided bike fans of all ages with the best treat of all: 32 bikers performing gravity-defying stunts against the Manhattan skyline at Newtown Barge Park. Congratulations to first place winner Scotty Cranmer, who donned a leather jacket and wig (at least we hope it is) for the occasion.
Friday might surprised New York with three inches of snow (in October?!). But that didn’t stop Town Square from hosting its ninth annual Halloween bash at the Polish-Slavic Center. Kids shared in plenty of fun activities, including a sack race, a balloon relay race and a costume contest. Manhattan Avenue Toy Center donated arts and crafts.
The lines to get into Reyna’s wildly popular “Monster Mash” were truly frightening. The party, held at Trinity Human Services, featured face painting, candy, food, music and the community’s scariest haunted house. Rounding out the festivities was the 16th annual Williamsburg Halloween Parade. Marchers followed a full bagpipe and drums band through Northside streets dressed in some of the most creative costumes to be found anywhere.
