While perusing the streets for our favorite winter leftovers, we came across three stores that took the ‘best sale rack’ award and had us digging and scouring the racks until the sun went down.
1. What: Junk- Just as it sounds, no sugar coating, no frills, no joke. This warehouse store has all your vintage/antique/home/movie prop/unique bric-a-brac needs.
Where: With two locations in Williamsburg you can certainly get lost in a time warp once you step inside the garage. One of their locations is actually a giant parking garage. It is large enough to hold their massive inventory, which you have to see to believe! It’s impossible to get out in less than 15 minutes, so plan on spending a few hours there. You’ll have so much fun you won’t even realize how much time has gone by. 197 North 9th Street and 567 Driggs Avenue.

2. What: Malin Landaeus –A beautifully merchandised store with the true feminine beauty in mind. Designer archive and eclectic collection of vintage clothes, shoes and accessories.
Where: 155 N. 6th Street at Bedford Avenue.
Why: The shopping experience is homey and welcoming. All of their vintage leather boots are on sale! The boot selection is plentiful and diminishing fast. This is the best time to stock up on those boots that were trashed after the Arctic Blast in New York this winter. Check out her status and whereabouts.
3. What: Peachfrog- The best discounted discounter in all of New York-we swear. This gargantuan mega liquidator creates the best sales and lowest prices on anything you can think of. Inventory includes, however is not limited to the following: women’s, men’s, baby, home, intimates, shoes, accessories, iPod cases and so much more.
Where: 136 N. 10th Street
Why: It’s a forever sample sale that NEVER ends. They carry high quality designer goods for exceptionally low prices, every day, all the time. Stop in to catch their winter accessories on sale for 50% off. Don’t miss the back of the store with tons of winter boots left, both waterproof and non-water proof. Designers include Vans, Paper Denim and Cloth, Betsey Johson, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, and indie designers Mark and Estel and Gestuz from Denmark. It’s the only place to shop if you’re on a shoestring budget. They will welcome you with open arms and be happy to assist you in your next designer discount bag of bragging rights.
While yes, it is still winter, (and will be for the next few weeks), there’s lots more time to get your Arctic gear ready for next year. As retailers are discounting winter merchandise to the max, be sure to take full advantage of the sales, steals and deals all around Williamsburg.
