The Providence drum and bass duo make their return to Brooklyn to play one of Todd P’s weird, out of the way venues. Expect a lot of people doing the nervous twitch dance as these underground legends try to play as loud as humanly possible.
Saturday, 10/31, 171 Lombardy Street, Price TBA
If there had to be one show deserving of the title “sweetest Halloween part of the night”, then Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Religious Knives, and San Fransisco psych-rockers Wooden Shjips playing in Greenpoint is probably your best bet. Any of these bands alone could be a headliner, but it took somebody very smart to decide to put them all together for the most epic of Hallows Eve throw downs.
Saturday, 10/31, Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Avenue, 5 dollars
Any day now Deer Tick is going to be huge. The alt-country youngsters have been getting talked about by everybody from NBC’s Brian Williams, to Rolling Stone and Spin. If you go see them on Halloween, and they do happen to get as big as we expect, then you can tell your kids that “I saw Deer Tick on Halloween in a bowling alley, and they covered the Sex Pistols” because that is exactly what this band is going to do.
